90 Wiltshire based soldiers from 42 Battery, 32 Regiment Royal Artillery, Larkhill, returned home from Operations in Afghanistan and Iraq last weekend, after months of undertaking vital aerial video reconnaissance. The soldiers, a majority of whom had less than a 12 month gap since their previous tours of Afghanistan and Iraq, were welcomed by their families at a reception at the Regiment's ‘cook house'.

The Battery operated the Desert Hermes 450 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV) a surveillance system which provides day and night aerial reconnaissance. This capability provides UK forces with tactical situational awareness. 32 Regiment Royal Artillery are the British Army's sole TUAV regiment and, as such, have a permanent commitment to support both the Iraq and Afghanistan theatres of operations with aerial surveillance and target acquisition.  The Regiment has had elements deployed almost constantly since 1999.
