On 21^st April 2007, Ferozeshah (A) Company, Wiltshire Army Cadet Force are to participate in a ‘spicy' fundraising initiative at Tidworth Leisure Centre in support of the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), namely; "The World's Biggest Curry Lunch".

The aim of the event is to invite everyone across the UK to raise badly needed funds for the ABF, the army's national charity. For over sixty years the charity has worked tirelessly to provide financial and practical support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.

For their part the cadets of Ferozeshah (A) Company, who are aged between 12-18 years old and from detachments at Calne, Chippenham, Wootton Bassett and Swindon are conducting a sponsored five hour sports marathon which will include football, tag rugby, badminton and hockey. The facilities have kindly been provided by Kennet District Council (KDC) and KDC staff, have been supporting the event.

The day will be rounded off when the cadets tuck into various tasty curry dishes followed by a disco.

Major John Bradshaw (CEO, Wiltshire ACF) said, "The young people taking part in this event are not only giving their own time to a worthwhile cause but also contributing towards their success within the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme which we encourage as part of their personal development."

Ian Brown (Business & Performance Manager, Environment & Leisure Directorate) said, "Kennet is very happy to support this worth while event, raising money for such a good cause. Kennet continues to be committed to supporting such events to engage young people in activities that lead to personal development".
