Entries have now opened for the hugely popular Tidworth 10k and 3k fun run, which takes place on Sunday November 5th.
The event, which is organised by the 1 Mechanized Brigade Headquarters and Signal Squadron (215) who are based in Tidworth, took place for the first time in October 2005. Over 340 runners from around the region took part, raising in excess of £12,000 for the Pembroke Unit and cancer care at Salisbury District Hospital.
This year’s event is set to be even bigger, having attracted corporate sponsorship from Sole Obsession and LA Fitness. This has enabled organisers to introduce online registration to cope with demand through the event’s new website www.tidworth10k.co.uk, which also includes photos from last year’s event. Alternatively, telephone bookings and information packs can be requested by calling the Salisbury District Hospital Fundraising Office on 01722 429005.
Dave Cates, Director of Fundraising at Salisbury District Hospital, commented, “Our cancer services benefited hugely from last years event and were hoping to make this years even bigger. With the choice of two distances, this event suits both serious runners, beginners and families alike.”
