As part of Wiltshire Council's
plans to support local businesses during the economic downturn, Tidworth &
District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a presentation on the theme of ‘Surviving
the Credit Crunch'. Two eminent speakers,
Mark Berrisford-Smith and George Bright will examine the issues arising from

Mark Berrisford-Smith, Senior Economist, Business Economics Unit, HSBC Bank plc. Mark Beresford-Smith
from HSBC Bank will examine the Global and UK outlook setting Wiltshire in a
wider context
Mark is Senior Economist in
the Business Economics Unit at HSBC Bank plc. He is responsible for advising the Bank and
its customers on developments in the UK and global economies, the
performance of regions and key industry sectors.

George Bright, Chairman
of the West Wilts Economic Partnership. George will present on overview of his
recent report ‘Impact
of the Credit Crunch in Wiltshire' (March 2009).
George has lived and worked in Wiltshire for 25 years. A former
chartered accountant, he has been a director of various companies in the
private and public sectors.

Representatives from Business Link will
talk about the support services
that they are able to provide. Follow up workshops
will be arranged to provide a more detailed examination of the issues raised.
