Severe weather - services affected

Please find below the latest details of Wiltshire Council services affected by the severe weather. We will keep updating our website with information about any council services that are affected.

The Met Office is forecasting that Wiltshire is likely to experience continued snowfall today (January 6) followed by freezing conditions. Wiltshire Council is working with its partners to provide advice during this period of wintery weather.

Roads

Motorists are advised to observe weather conditions and listen to local radio stations for updates. People should take account of the weather and consider if their journey is necessary.

Household and commercial waste for disposal
All the council's waste collection services on the January 6 have been suspended due to the adverse weather conditions. Please leave your waste out and we will return to it as soon as possible. We will do everything within our power to minimise any inconvenience.

Recyclable materials and garden waste

All the council's recycling and garden waste services on January 6 have been suspended due to the adverse weather conditions. Please leave your recycling and garden waste out and if not collected by 4pm on the January 7 please remove and place out on your next scheduled collection day.

Household recycling centres

They are all currently closed to the public.

Leisure centres
Tisbury and Amesbury leisure centres are closed. Marlborough Leisure centre will close early at 4pm today.

Five Rivers in Salisbury, Durrinton leisure centre, Tidworth leisure centre, Devizes Leisure centre and Pewsey leisure centre are currently open but are all likely to close later today.

Libraries and heritage
The Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre is closed. Bradford on Avon library will close from 1pm today (January 6). No mobile libraries will operate today (January 6)

Public transport
Bus services supported by the council have been signficantly reduced and in many cases are not operating.

Council meetings
The Southern Area Planning Committee that was due to be held in the City Hall on January 7 has been cancelled. A new date will be announced shortly.

The Western Area Planning Committee that was due to be held at the Bradley Road offices on January 6 has been cancelled. A new date will be announced shortly.

Milford St Office in Salisbury is closed. Please phone 0300 456 0100 with any urgent enquiries.
