Following the 2nd
fatal accident recently involving a member of Military personnel from the
TidNBul Garrison, the RMP are reminding all soldiers and families of the danger
in attempting to cross the busy A303.
While many are using the Solstice Park services following a night out,
attempting to cross the dual carriageway adjacent to the services must be
avoided. There is no lighting on this stretch of the carriageway so visibility
is reduced and it is impossible to judge the speed of oncoming traffic. It is
equally impossible for a driver to spot a pedestrian.
If you must cross over the
A303 - use the foot bridge further down, its there for a reason. These two
deaths were tragic for all concerned and unnecessary, let's not allow this distressing
statistic to rise, help us to help you.
