Reiki Awareness Week - 8th - 14th June PDF Print E-mail

The UK Reiki Federation, which is one of the largest professional Reiki associations in the UK,  will be holding its annual Reiki Awareness Week from 8-14 June 2008, where members of the UKRF and members from some other Reiki organisations will be running a variety of events throughout the UK.  This offers the public the opportunity to find out and to try Reiki for themselves.

Reiki is an energy system, which is used as a therapy.  A Reiki session is usually carried out with the recipient lying down or sitting.  There is no need to remove any clothing.  The practitioner will place the hands on, or off the body, but in a non intrusive way.  Reiki may be experienced as a flow of energy, mild tingling, warmth, coolness, other sensations, or nothing at all. People have reported that they found Reiki to be deeply relaxing, and had a profoundly calming effect which they have found to be particularly beneficial in times of stress.

Reiki can be used by anyone, and can be used alongside orthodox medicines.  Reiki is a simple technique which you can learn for use on yourself.  In the Andover area two events are planned which will offer individuals the opportunity to come and find out about Reiki, or to try it out for a nominal sum.  Raffle, some stalls and refreshments also available. Profits from the two events will go to Diabetes UK
