Queens Head Presents Money to Support OAPs in Ludgershall
On Thursday 2nd October 2008 a well attended presentation took place in the Skittle Alley at the Queens Head in Ludgershall. Jane Robinson Landlady of the Queens Head presented two cheques totalling £2500.00 which was split between the Sunset Club and Sylvia Orchard for the Wednesday club in Ludgershall. Sylvia Orchard has already spent some of the money by booking a trip to a Pantomime in Salisbury 'Dick Whittington' for 50 members at Christmas.

The Queens Head has been raising the money since January 2008 by doing quiz nights every month on the first Thursday of each month which is hosted by Billy Walters and quiz master Alan Bailey - Billy and Alan give there time and effort free of charge so we can raise lots of money for the Queens Charities.

The pub also held a Jumble Sale which the OAP's ran them selves. Andy Farrell raised money doing a sponsored bike ride from Bristol to Reading last May. John McConnell also one of the organisers did a five-mile sponsored run with his dog Max with Fran McDermott. A Family Fun Day was held at the Queens Head to raise money for the two organisations.

Landlady Jane Robinson would like to give a special thank you to Kim and Dave Baird for their help. Pauline Patterson and Terri-Anne Evans for giving their free time every month to help with the OAP's lunches. Castledown Radio have played a big part in adverting all the Queens Head events. The Biggest thank you goes to the customers of the Queens Head without them there would be no money.
