More than 8O posts could be axed as Kennet and North Wiltshire and West Wiltshire Primary Care Trusts announce cuts to management and administration staff.

The potential job losses come as the NHS face millions of pounds of budgetary deficits, amongst which includes Kennet & North Wiltshire with more than £8.2m in the red.

Carol Clarke, Chief Executive of the Primary Care Trusts said, “As part of our financial recovery plan it will be necessary for the PCTs to make savings by reducing the number of management, administration &, support posts, and associated overheads.  These changes are in addition to those set out in the recently released proposals to changes to our health services, which are subject to public consultation.”

All staff at the Primary Care Trusts have received a letter informing them of these forthcoming changes, and individuals who may be affected by the changes will be contacted by managers in May.

She continued, “I appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone in our organisations, and uncertainty about the future only makes it harder. We will endeavour to let those who may be affected know as quickly as we can.”
