Following an announcement by the Under Secretary of State for Defence, Don Touhig, Tidworth Garrison is set to be included in an £8 billion overhaul of Army facilities in the Salisbury Plain area.
A contract lasting many years has been finalised with Aspire Defence Limited, which will see the construction of more than 350 new buildings, the refurbishment of 140 and the demolition of more than 400 buildings in Tidworth, Perham Down, Bulford, Warminister, Larkhill and Aldershot.
Work on Tidworth Garrison has already begun with plans for up to 40 per cent of the buildings to be replaced. New living accommodation for single soldiers comes in the form of flats, which will include en-suite bedrooms, shared living-room and utility areas and shared gardens.

Mr Touhig said: We value the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces, and we are doing all we can to demonstrate this. They deserve modern and fully serviced accommodation and that is what we are delering.”
