National No Smoking Day (NSD) is now in its 23rd year and a firm fixture in the UK calendar because of its popularity amongst smokers who have quit or want to quit. Three quarters of smokers would like to stop and on NSD over 1.5 million try. Giving up smoking requires planning, encouragement, support and motivation. Helping others to prepare to give up can be done year round but the Day provides an excellent focus and motivation for many smokers to stop. For your chance to kick the habit various events and courses are taking place in the Tidworth Community Area (TCA). Stop smoking advisers will be on hand in the local community to help those who seriously want to stop:
Ludgershall Health Centre, 10:30 - 4:00pm and Lane Health Centre, Tidworth, 10:30 - 12:00. Castle Practice, Drummer Lane, Ludgershall holds Stop Smoking classes every Tuesday at 5.30pm. Stop Smoking Course at the Queen Elizabeth Memorial Health Centre. This is a 6-week Smoking Cessation Course. For more information contact 01980 602640 or just turn up on the day.
