Ludgershall Sports Youth Football results for 14th September 2008
Ludgershall Sports U11 1 v Rouge Raiders U11 5
Ludgershall Sports U11 competed in their first eleven-a-side league match and were on the receiving end of a 5 - 1 defeat. A new kit provided by sponsors Independent Bookmakers did not inspire the home team. Rouge made use of the large pitch and opened a 3 - 0 lead. Adam Heatherington began to dominate mid-field as Sports started to play some flowing football, but a ball that split the home defence gave Raiders a comfortable first half lead. The second period was more evenly balanced, Rouge added their fifth, but Sports persistence reaped reward as Michael Rowley pounced for Ludgershall's first goal of the new campaign.
Sports U9's first game of the season was away to last seasons champions, Ludgershall's youngsters dictated the first half and justly took the lead with Sam Mills grabbing the spoils. Man of the Match Charlie Pike played the first half between the sticks, and a half time reshuffle put him upfront to lead Ludgershall's attack. Worton & Cheverill began to play football like last season, and they clawed their way back into the game hitting home three unanswered second half goals to start the campaign with a hard fought victory.
Salisbury City Youth U13 5 v Ludgershall Sports U13 8
In a highly competitive encounter Sports U13 came through to reap the three points. Salisbury went 2 - 0 to the good in the first quarter hour, Ludgershall upped the pace to grab four goals and a Salisbury third gave Sports a slender 4 - 3 advantage. The second half started evenly and a City brace was answered by Sports to keep this fair and even contest level. Sports then dominated the final 10 minute spell and rattled in three goals for a richly deserved 8 - 5 victory. Ludgershall scorers were Aston Davies, Chris Scott (2) and Luke Bates (5), Man of the Match was Harry Lawton.
Ludgershall Sports U15 1 v Bourne Patriots U15 5
Ludgershall's U15 team started life in the Peter Houseman Premier league with a home defeat. Bourne Patriots speed and shape saw them open a 2 - 0 lead over the Cassels Transport sponsored U15 team. The visitors were dictating proceedings, but Sport's defence led by a superb display from Chris Paddy held firm. After withstanding the pressure Patriots pressure paid off with a third. The goal of the game came Ludgershall's way as Curtis Tough hit an unstoppable 25 yard volley that gave the keeper no chance. In the second period Sport's chances were limited by a capable visitors defence, and two second half goals secured the points.
