Ludgershall Parish Council Chairman appeals to locals to reduce dumping
Chris Williams, Chairman of Ludgershall Parish Council praised the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for clearing bulk rubbish from a field near Crawboys lane.
He thanked the MoD for its speedy response after months of trying to ascertain who owned the land. He also appealed for support from locals to keep the field free of rubbish. “All I would like to ask now is that Ludgershall residents do not continue to use the field as a dumping ground. Kennet District Council provides us with some very good waste removal facilities and although there are small charges in some cases, we really should try to use them,” said Chris.
Litter is a constant problem in the village and although someone has been employed on an hourly basis to help remove litter in the centre of Ludgershall, Chris says the whole of the community needs to be involved.
“Kennet District Council do their bit, but we need help elsewhere and again I appeal to locals to just please pick up litter if they see it.”
If you would like to have your say and be involved in what is happening in the Ludgershall Community, the next Forum will take place on 16th May in the Scout Hut.
