It’s official - Castledown Radio now ‘on-air’ at 104.7 FM!
Tune into 104.7 FM!
Why?
Because that is the wavelength where you can hear Castledown Radio - Tidworth Community Area’s ‘first’ community radio station dedicated entirely to the people.
Saturday, 4th November at precisely 12midday, Baz Reilly, Castledown Radio’s Station Manager hit the on-air button and officially introduced the station to its FM listening public.
In a packed Castledown Sports Centre, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as people young and old witnessed history for the area in the making.

“This is quite literally a ‘fantastic’ day for everyone. It has taken several years to get here and an incredible amount of hard work by many people. I would like to give special thanks to Simon Curr from Hightrees Organisation and also to Peter Nairne for their expert technical skills and immense support, as well as the fact that they gave up an incredible amount of personal time to make this FM launch possible. There are many many people I would like to thank, far too many to mention, but you all know who you are – thank you so much!” said Steve Lawton, Chief Executive of Tidworth Development Trust.
Special guests included Kevin Wren, Chairman of Wiltshire County Council and Andrew Channon, Chairman of Tidworth Development Trust.
