Community Safety Weeks of Action - September 2008 PDF Print E-mail

Throughout the year, Kennet District Council works in partnership with many agencies to keep our communities safe and to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. During September, in order to raise awareness of initiatives, services and activities that local agencies are providing to address the issues which have been identified as being of most concern to local neighbourhoods, we will be highlighting some of the on-going work that is currently being done.

Kennet and Sarsen are planning a series of "Tidy Friday" events around the district which will involve operation crews targeting problem areas. The events are part of a national "Keep Britain Tidy" campaign and will take place in Tidworth and Ludgershall on the 26th September.

Community Development Executive Committee Chairman Councillor Paula Winchcombe said "I am delighted that this range of activity is taking place around the district and very pleased at the co-operation between all the agencies involved.  I think it is important that the public are aware of the activity that is being undertaken to reduce anti-social behaviour in the district and make Kennet a cleaner and safer environment for everyone to enjoy".
