Following an announcement by NAAFI, Tidworth’s Spar shop on Station Road is set to close.

It comes as NAAFI say it is to re-focus its business on international operations.

In a press release issued by NAAFI, the company says, “The Tidworth shop is becoming increasingly isolated from the remaining estate, and will continue to decline. It is expected the store will close in late October. All staff have been consulted and informed of the proposal to dispose of the site and, where possible, NAAFI will work to offer staff alternative positions within the company.”

The decision to withdraw from Station Road was taken together with the MOD, who plan to put in place multi-activity contracts, including the provision of retail and leisure facilities for Armed Service personnel.
