A complaint from the public about the encroaching hedge surrounding Castle Primary school in Short Street, a Councillor who represents the Town Council on the board of school governors will take this complaint to their next meeting. Tidworth Community Area Board at their inaugural meeting agreed to investigate the problems surrounding the permanent recycling skips in Ludgershall car park. A site meeting was arranged between Board member, Wiltshire Waste officer & Town Councillor, they agreed to move the recycling skips approximately 9 metres to the right of green sign for a trial period. It was hoped that this solution will alleviate the current problems for residents living in Sydney Court, but so far fly tipping has continued for non-recyclables such as household rubbish, toys etc. The Wiltshire Council Enforcement Officer will be monitoring the site with a view to prosecutions. Following discussions with the youth of Ludgershall it has been agreed to purchase a wooden shelter fitted on a concrete base in the Recreation Ground; hopefully this work will be completed by end of September 2009. Cemetery - it has been decided to replace the two wooden seats, the committee will investigate the costs to remove existing seats and purchase and install two green metal seats. The following restoration work on the War Memorial has been completed, cleaning of the monument, small masonry repairs and all lettering re-painted. Additional work to replace the damaged cornice is still outstanding. It was appreciated to see a letter in the Andover Advertiser commenting on the floral display around the War Memorial this year.
