Local Club Wins British Titles

Sunday the 26th of October saw 4 members of the Ludgershall Elite Freestyle Fight School from Castledown leisure centre become 2008 British Champions. The Premier Grand slam Martial arts series of events attracts many skilled fighters from across the south of England ranging from 5 year olds to adult and veteran(40+) sections in both semi contact point fighting and light continuous bouts.  To hear an interview with Dave Thomas Click here...

In the novice middle weight section a disappointing start for Dave Alves who lost in his first round of points, being undefeated this year in his continuous section he was  determined to do well again, he got the win and this years grand champion title.

Chris Higgins battled through his novice heavyweight sections and took the grand champion titles in both categories, both Chris and Dave will step up to the intermediate sections next season.

Adrian Wright in the intermediate heavyweight section had a stunning first place victory in the last event fought hard this time and managed to bring a third place trophy back for the club.

Damien Cogman who last year brought home the novice lightweight points title stormed through his intermediate sections to take this years champion title in both categories.

Lastly was Dave Thomas in the black belt middleweight sections took third place in the points section but determined to win his ninth British title fought hard in his continuous section to take the win and the championship title.
