Community Area Awards 2016
TO BE HELD IN
THE WELLINGTON ACADEMY, LUDGERSHALL
ON THURSDAY 21ST APRIL 2016
The Community Awards event is all about giving public recognition to those who volunteer their own time to help others without seeking financial rewards or recompense for doing so. Anyone living within the Tidworth Community Area, Bulford Camp and the neighbouring parish of Shipton Bellinger is elilgible for nomination.
Volunteers are those who give freely of their time but may equally include those in full or part time work who have made significant contributions over and above their responsibilities for which they have been paid, even if these are connected to their day job. If in doubt about whether to make a nomination, just ask yourself these 3 simple questions:
- Does the work benefit an individual(s) or group of people?
- Does it have a strong voluntary element?
- Would I like to see my nominee receive public recogntiion for what he/she has achieved?
If the answer is YES to all questions - then go ahead!
For the evening to be a success, we need the support and involvement of everyone across the Community Area. Help us to make it a great evening. Please study carefully the eight judging categories, and then make your nomination; it's that simple.
We probably all know of good deeds being done, or have heard about something that has lifted the spirits. In this instance it's the quality, not the size that counts. No matter how small the achievement, or how few people might have benefited, do please tell us about it in your nomination. It may involve an individual, or a group of people, young or old, personal help for a neighbour or a large environmental project, but check out the categories – we hope that the explanatory notes will fire your imagination and get you nominating.
All those who submit a nomination(s) are encouraged to come along and support the person they've nominated. There's no charge on the door. It's open to the whole community, our sponsors and guests, so 2016 should be another memorable evening. Please get hold of a nomination form, tell us who you want to nominate and why, and then put the date in your diary. We look forward to giving you the chance to Recognise Endeavour and enjoy a family evening of celebration and entertainment.
If you have any questions at all please contact Tony Pickernell on 01980 840722 or Alex Bostock on 01722 523170 during normal working hours, weekdays only.
